NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Iona College women’s volleyball team wrapped up the Texas Classic at Gregory Gym with a 3-0 loss to nationally ranked Colorado State.
The No. 14 ranked Rams handled the Gaels in the gatherings finale, using an attack percentage of 40.2% to carry them to victory. The Maroon and Gold fell in straight sets, 12-15, 22-25, and 15-25.
The leader for Iona during the match was freshman Claire Archiblad, who had team high eight kills. Freshman Amanda Gannon and junior Karly White each chipped in 5 as well.
Freshman Jessica Paolucci led Iona with 11 digs during the contest, Archibald chipped in eight as well. Freshman Emma Rose had the team high 10 assists.
During the second set, the Gaels battled and competitively matched the Rams, tying CSU seven times and forcing four lead changes.
The Texas Classic marked the final non-conference tournament of the season for the Maroon and Gold.
Iona’s next time on the court will come on Saturday, Sep. 19, against conference foe, Siena.
