NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Monroe College women’s cross country team placed fourth out of 15 teams in the Highlander Invitational run hosted by Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania on Saturday. Susan Ejore and Nokuthula Dlamini broke the course record in the race.
This banner day for the Mustangs saw Ejore set a new course mark in the 6K run, finishing first with a winning time of 21:11. Dlamini placed second with a time of 21:33. Third third runner to cross was more than two minutes behind these two stampeding Mustangs. Jrenda Rivera was the next Monroe runner to cross. She placed 36th with a time of 25:57. Tashay Roberts marked a time of 27:24. Shavon Fields crossed the line in 27:49, Princess Guwor completed the distance in 29:02 and Dominique Swain clocked a 29:08 in her run.
The Monroe College women’s cross country team returns to action on Saturday, September 26, when they compete at the Osprey Open in Pomona, New Jersey. The starting time is slated for 10:00 AM.
