NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence will highlight the life and work of composer and musician Billy Strayhorn via an art exhibit and a showing of the documentary film “Lush Life” by Robert Levi at the Museum of Arts & Culture in New Rochelle High School. The exhibit–which is part of the 2015 New Rochelle ArtsFest–will kick off Friday and run through Wednesday, Nov. 25.

The exhibit will be open to the public Monday-Friday from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. And it will be open on Saturday, Sept. 26 from noon to 5 p.m. for special ArtsFest hours.

There will be also be a screening of Robert Levi’s 2008 documentary “Billy Strayhorn: Lush Life” on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Linda Kelly Theater in New Rochelle High School. Levi will be on hand to discuss the film, which won the Emmy Award for Best Documentary of the Year, George Foster Peabody Award for Broadcast Excellence and Writers Guild Award for Best Documentary Screenplay.
