WHITE PLAINS, NY — County Executive Robert P. Astorino in partnership with LatinBusinessToday, a national online publication dedicated to enabling the success and growth of Latino small businesses, invite Hispanic small business owners to Westchester’s 2nd annual Hispanic Business Summit – “Crossroads to Customers, Capital and Contracts” – on Wednesday, October 7 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Westchester Community College, Gateway Center Atrium, 75 Grasslands Road, Valhalla.

“Building on the success of our first Hispanic Business Summit last year, we are delighted to bring it back with our partner, Latin Business Today,” Astorino said. “Approximately 10 percent of all Westchester businesses are owned by Hispanics, and that number continues to grow. As a result, we are working hard to create environments that bring business owners together to learn about every available tool that can help start or grow their enterprise.”

At the summit, which is free, local business owners will have the opportunity to listen and learn from a panel of experts that will discuss three important topics:

·         Customers: How to reach your customers and increase your business through targeted marketing and innovative solutions.

·         Capital: How to gain access to capital through loans and financing programs.

·         Contracts: How to navigate the process of securing government contracts.

In addition, guests will have the opportunity to attend workshops and network with both private and public providers that can help start or grow their business.

“We’re excited to partner once again with Westchester County on this business forum,” said Barry Mittelman, publisher of Latin Business Today. “Our mission is to inform, inspire, mentor and empower, and in doing so galvanize business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals.”

The panel discussion will be moderated by Tony Jimenez, president and CEO, MicroTech – a Washington D.C. based technology company – and a Latin Business Today advisory board member. Panelists include: Carlos Fonseca, vice president, Global Knowledge and Insights at the Coca Cola Company; Carola Bracco, CEO, Neighbors Link and formerly of GE, Ford and Time Warner; Steven L. Alfasi, attorney, Ponzini and Novick, LLP; and William Mooney III, director, Westchester County Office of Economic Development.

Event sponsors include – Gold sponsors: TD Bank and MasterCard; Silver sponsors: AdCorp, HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc., NY Life and Westchester Hispano; Bronze sponsors: Boy Scouts of America, Community Capital, New York Dominican Film Festival, Gaucho Grill, La Flor De Jalisco Bakery, SBDC and Score.
