NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Due to the weather, New Rochelle Youth Bureau has moved today’s event to the Doyle Center (94 Davis Ave).
The New Rochelle Youth Bureau is hosting their first BBQ for current members on Thursday, October 1st at 4pm. Youth Bureau commissioners, board members, staff, and current youth members are all expected to attend. Executive Director Kelly Johnson programmed the event as part of Youth Staff Development Day, a day to celebrate and bring together today’s youth.
With youth development at their core, the New Rochelle Youth Bureau oversees and coordinates the City’s peer leadership programs- including Strive, Youth Court, Youth Council and CAPP- and offers professional and personal learning opportunities. “Our leadership programs are designed to train young people to become future leaders,” said Executive Director Johnson.
At the October 1st event, attendees will participate in icebreakers, workshops, games, and more. Most importantly young members from each program will be able to interact with one another. Staff members will also be part of the fun.
