NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Monroe College women’s cross country team ran to a third-place finish at the NJIT Highlander Invitational in New Jersey. Despite running through a storm, Susan Ejore won the meet with a blistering time of 17:26.42 in the 5K, which is a new school and course record. The time was a personal best for the Kenyan.
Finishing just behind her was Nokuthula Dlamini from South Africa. Her second-best time was 17:34.75. Jrenda Rivera came in next with a time of 20:18.42. Freshman Tashay Roberts posted a time of 21:22.01. She was followed by Princess Guwor (21:40), Shavon Fields (22:17.43) and Dominique Swain (22:26).
After that, Aliyah Matta crossed in a time of 22:58.99, Ashley Stewart finished in 23:06.70 , Olivia Allen in 24:06.39, Ernestine Conteh 25:12 and Tamirah Thompson in 25:58. The cross country team returns to action on Sunday, October 11, when they run in the CCNY Invitational from Van Cortlandt Park.
