NEW ROCHELLE, NY —
WHAT: The FARE Walk for Food Allergy, presented by Mylan Specialty L.P., raises critical funds and awareness each year to support FARE’s mission to improve the quality of life and the health of individuals with food allergies, and to provide them hope through the promise of new treatments. In the U.S., 1 in 13 children has a food allergy, and a food allergy reaction sends someone to the emergency room every three minutes.
The FARE Walk for Food Allergy in Westchester has raised approximately $1.2 million to support life-changing research and food allergy education and advocacy programs since 2010! This year’s walk will feature a photo booth, caricature artist, face painting, soccer training, bounce houses, Teal Pumpkin Project™ crafts and more. Hundreds of children, parents and supporters will join together Saturday, Oct. 10 for this important cause.
WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 10; check-in/activities at 1 p.m.
WHERE: Glen Island Park
New Rochelle, NY
WHY: Food allergies are a serious and growing public health issue. Researchers estimate that up to 15 million Americans have food allergies. This life-altering and potentially life-threatening disease affects 1 in 13 children in the United States. There is no cure for food allergy, and with nearly 40 percent of children with food allergies having already experienced a severe or life-threatening reaction, the need for improved treatment, increased education and public policy that promotes safety and inclusion is urgent.
Stand with individuals, family members, friends and community members who care about people with food allergies to help raise critical funds, improve awareness, and support FARE in its mission to improve the quality of life and the health of individuals with food allergies, and to provide them hope through the promise of new treatments.
