NEW ROCHELLE, NY —
The League of Women Voters of New Rochelle is sponsoring a Candidates Forum on Monday, October 26 in New Rochelle City Hall for the three county legislators who represent parts of New Rochelle. The forum will be recorded and replayed repeatedly the days before the election on Cablevision Channel 75 and Verizon Channel 28. An on-demand link will also be available.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.and the public is invited to submit questions. The forum will begin at 7 p.m. All official candidates have been invited to attend.
The unopposed incumbent in District 11, James Maisano – R-C will start the evening with a short statement. This will be followed by statements and questions and answers from the candidates for the contested seats: incumbent Sheila Marcotte-R-C and challenger Haina Just-Michael-D-WF for District 10 and incumbent Catherine Parker – D-WF and challenger Susan Watson – R-C for District 7.
District 11 includes much of the southern part of New Rochelle and Pelham; District 10 covers the northern portion of New Rochelle and the Town of Eastchester, and District 7 includes an eastern portion of New Rochelle and other communities along the Sound.
The forum, as always, will be moderated by a League member living outside of New Rochelle.
