WHITE PLAINS, NY –Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino joined Janet Crawshaw, publisher of The Valley Table magazine, at Iron Horse in Pleasantville today to announce The Valley Table’s Fall Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HVRW). During HVRW, which runs from November 2-15, diners will have the chance to sample cuisine offerings from more than 100 restaurants sourced through local produce throughout Westchester.

“Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is a great time for diners to visit Westchester County’s impressive restaurants this fall season,” Astorino said. “Come ‘Meet Me’ in Westchester to try out a wide selection of delicious food at a great price.”

During the kick-off event, Astorino helped prepare a new, signature dish for the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week menu – the “Astorino Burger.”

The Iron Horse, under the ownership of Andrew Economos, is an intimate restaurant located in the Pleasantville train station building.

“We are thrilled to be the site to kick off Fall Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and to offer the signature ‘Astorino Burger’ on our menu in honor of the County Executive,” said Andrew Economos, Owner of Iron Horse. “It is an honor to participate in such an exciting dining experience here in Westchester County.”

Three-course, prix fixe dinners are $29.95 and lunches are $20.95 (plus beverage, tax and tip). Participating venues include well-known establishments such as Crabtree’s Kittle House  and X2O Xaviars on the Hudson. Joining the lineup this year are 10 new Westchester restaurants, including: 273 Kitchen in Harrison, The Barley House in Thornwood and Little Mexican Café in New Rochelle. Others in attendance included Chef Sal from 808 Bistro, William Winstanley, owner of Il Sorriso Ristorante Italiano, Chefs Joseph Sasso and Chris Hunter from Sam’s of Gedney Way, and Chef Rafael Palomino from Sonora.

“When it comes to great food and great restaurants, there’s no better place to be than in the Hudson River Valley and no better time to get out and dine than during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week,” said Janet Crawshaw, publisher and founder, The Valley Table and Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. “It’s one of the largest dining events in the country. And with more than 100 restaurants participating right here in Westchester County, we’re delighted to join with County Executive Astorino to officially kick-off our fall Restaurant Week.
