WHITE PLAINS, NY — The League of Women Voters of Westchester announces its support for County Proposition 1 and urges voters to mark “Yes” on the ballot on November 3rd. This amendment to the County Charter would move up the date that the County Executive must present the county budget from November 15th to October 15th for capital projects and to November 10th for operations.
“This is a modest but important step that would give the public and county legislators more time to review the large and complicated dollar amounts that make up the county budget,” said Janet Zagoria, Chair of the LWVW County Government Committee.
The League is sponsoring its annual public information meeting on the budget on Thursday, November 19th, details to be announced. It will issue its statement on the budget in time for the last of three public hearings on December 9.
