NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Iona College women’s cross country grad student Tara Jameson finished third overall and led the Gaels to a third place team finish at the 2015 ECAC Championship at Van Cortlandt Park Saturday. Jameson completed her stellar Iona career with the bronze medal, completing the 5k course in 17:52.4.
Jameson finished behind a pair of runners from James Madison, and was just over 10 second shy of the first place performer. Sophomore Rachel Garn was the Gaels’ second harrier to cross the line in 18:39.3. Graduate Melissa Hawtin also competed in her final race with the Maroon & Gold and placed 15th (18:45.5). Freshman Kristina Bozic (18:55.9) was 21st and sophomore Natalie Holder 41st (19:42.1) to round out the Gael scorers.
With the completion of the 30th installment of the ECAC Championship, the Gaels finished the 2015 cross country campaign. Iona is back in action on the indoor track, Friday Dec. 4.
