Advance Screening of 45 Years with post-film discussion and Q&A with director Andrew Haigh

The Picture House presents an advance screening of the new film 45 Years (R; 95 mins) followed by a discussion and Q&A with director Andrew Haigh. The official selection of both the Telluride Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, 45 Years tells the story of long-time married couple Kate and Geoff Mercer, who in the week leading up to their 45th wedding anniversary receive an unexpected letter which contains potentially life changing news. After the film, TPH critic-in-residence Marshall Fine will lead a discussion and Q&A with the film’s director Andrew Haigh. Haigh is best known for his previous two feature films, Greek Pete and Weekend. Weekend premiered at SXSW in March 2011 and picked up over 25 international awards before being distributed theatrically worldwide. Haigh was also an Executive Producer and showrunner on HBO’s Looking for which he wrote and directed multiple episodes. Advance Screening of The Big Short with post-film discussion and Q&A with director Adam McKay

Join The Picture House for an advance screening of the new film The Big Short followed by a discussion and Q&A with the film’s director Adam McKay. The film, based on the 2010 book of the same name by best-selling author Michael Lewis (Liar’s Poker, Flash Boys, Moneyball) recounts the financial crisis of 2007–2010 caused by the build-up of the housing and credit bubble. The Big Short stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt and is scheduled for nationwide release two days after The Picture House screening on December 11th.

PACT FAMILY TIME @TPH – The Peanuts Movie

The Picture House and PACT team-up to present Family Time @TPH with a Friday night screening of the family favorite The Peanuts Movie. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, and all of your favorite classic Peanuts characters are back together and on the big screen for the first time. Enjoy an evening at The Picture House with your whole family enjoying this updated version of a cartoon classic. The Nutcracker Magical Matinee Screening and Live Dance Performance

A holiday tradition for families and kids of all ages, The Picture House will once again present its annual Nutcracker Magical Matinee screening and live dance performance in partnership with Ballet Arts dance studio. The Nutcracker, New York City Ballet’s classic film production of George Balanchine’s choreography, will be on the big screen in the Main Hall at a special film event trimmed with beautifully costumed ballerinas from Ballet Arts greeting attendees upon arrival, a live dance performance, and photo opportunities. The Swingles Live in Concert at The Picture House

For more than half a century The Swingles have pushed the boundaries of vocal music. The seven young singers that make up today’s London-based group are driven by the same innovative spirit that has defined the five-time Grammy® winners since they first made waves in the 1960s. Following the success of their 2015 album ‘Deep End’, the UK-based group celebrate a particularly poignant year in their history with the release of a new collection of holiday and winter-themed pieces, “Yule Songs Vol. II,” and a tour that takes them around the world— including their Westchester debut at The Picture House! In this continuation of the epic space saga, a downed stormtrooper (John Boyega) goes on a journey that reconnects him with heroic faces from the past (Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill).
