Thruway Authority Announces New Traffic Pattern On I-95 At Exit 15

Written By: Robert Cox

ALBANY, NY — The Thruway Authority today announced that the northbound and southbound lanes on I-95 (New England Thruway) at exit 15 (New Rochelle) will be shifted into a new configuration as a part of the rehabilitation of the Kings Highway Bridge. The work is scheduled for tonight, Thursday, Dec. 3 beginning at 11:00 p.m. until Friday, Dec. 4 at 5:00 a.m., and again on Friday Dec. 4 beginning at 11:00 p.m. until Saturday, Dec. 5 at 5:00 a.m.

This work is part of the $58.7 million New England Thruway concrete restoration project and involves shifting the northbound and southbound lanes back into a winter configuration, eliminating the major traffic shifts currently in place.

Motorists can expect lane closures and periodic traffic stoppages in the northbound direction tonight, Thursday night, Dec. 3, and in the southbound direction on Friday night, Dec. 4 to allow for installation of the traffic shift.

In case of inclement weather, the work may be postponed.

Electronic signboards and Highway Advisory Radio (530 AM) will update motorists about expected delays.

The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this scheduled work.
