NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Iona College women’s indoor track freshman Kristina Bozic made an impressive indoor debut for the Maroon & Gold finishing in second place in the 3,000-meter event at the 2015-16 Boston University Season Opener at the Track & Tennis Center. Bozic was the lone women’s performer representing the Gaels.
Bozic ran a time of 9:54.76, just over a second behind the race winner, Northeastern’s Brook Wojeski. The time was a Croatian Junior National Record, lowering the mark of 10:01.01 set by Nikolina Hrelec in Vienna, Austria on Jan. 29, 2013.
The Gaels also had a contingent at the Fordham University Season Opener Friday evening.
Bozic and Alexandra Naughton finished 10th in their respective events; Bozic in the 60-meter dash and Naughton in the 400-meter event.
