NEW ROCHELLE, NY –Caroline Doctorow’s bluegrass band will perform a concert, The Great American Song Revival, on Sunday, January 24, from 3:00 pm – 4:15 pm, in the Ossie Davis Theater of the New Rochelle Public Library.
Ms. Doctorow’s very personal tribute to songwriters of the ’60s has been called, “folk music at its finest.” A mesmerizing vocalist and champion of American folk music, she has released 9 folk/Americana albums and is widely admired for delivering a song with a velveteen voice. In this program she and her band will focus on the folk music of performers such as Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Tom Paxton, Donovan, Richard and Mimi Farina, John Hartford and Dave Van Ronk. Ms. Doctorow will also share some of her original compositions and her reminiscences about growing up in New Rochelle as the daughter of author E. L. Doctorow.
The concert will conclude with a program announcing New Rochelle’s special tribute to the late E.L. Doctorow, followed by a reception.
