Jerome Kellert, Youth Soccer Pioneer in New Rochelle, Founder of Soccer Post-Soccer Locker Retail Chain, Dies at 73

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Jerome Lee Kellert, 73, of Plymouth, MA, died on Saturday April 19th surrounded by his family, after a year long fight with leukemia. Mr. Kellert was born in Rocky Mount North Carolina, was a lifelong resident of New York, and had relocated to Plymouth in recent years. Mr. Kellert worked in show business as an agent with the William Morris Agency, managing musical acts during the golden age of rock and roll. He later went on to play an integral role in youth soccer in the town of New Rochelle, NY as his children grew up playing the sport. He went on to develop a franchise of soccer stores throughout the tri-state area and east coast of the United States. Mr. Kellert retired to Plymouth, MA in 2007 after years involved in various business ventures in NY. Mr. Kellert was passionate about politics, a voracious reader, an avid movie-goer and a fan of the arts. He was a contrarian to the end, and his sense of humor and quick wit were an acquired taste, enjoyed most by those who knew him best. He was a beloved husband to his wife Patricia, always at her side. His love for his three children was second to none, and easily observed when he was around them. Mr. Kellert is survived by his wife Patricia Kellert, of Plymouth and her three sisters, Gail, Kitty and Micaela Kelly, his son Kevin Lee Kellert of Arlington, his daughter Megan Lee Duffley and her husband Michael, of Plymouth, his son Jesse Lee Kellert, of Costa Mesa, CA, his two beloved granddaughters Molly Elizabeth Duffley and Annabel Lee Duffley of Plymouth and his sister Sherry Levinsohn of West Lake Village, CA. Memorial services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in memory of Jerome Lee Kellert to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
