PELHAM, NY — The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) announced the appointment of Francile. Albright to Director of Education. Albright joined the staff of the historic movie theater at the end of December.
As Director of Education, Albright sets the vision, strategy, and curriculum for education at TPH and is responsible for the oversight and execution of all elements of the mission-driven education program for ages 4 through adult. The Picture House’s education program currently includes classes and camps held on site at The Picture House; school and community group residencies, after-school programs and enrichment programs; curriculum-driven screenings for school groups at TPH; and education elements within TPH general programming.
“We are thrilled to have Francile join our Picture House staff,” said Laura deBuys, executive director and president of The Picture House. “Her acting, producing, and teaching background provides the right combination of skills for the position. We’re looking forward to continuing to expand our educational offerings in the months and years to come, fostering filmmakers of all ages and increasing film literacy and appreciation. Francile is uniquely equipped to help us do that.”
Albright is a SAG-AFTRA/AEA actress, singer, voiceover artist, producer and teacher with a depth of experience gleaned from her work in the entertainment industry plus five years running an independent film production company. Since 2005, she has worked as an actress and singer in Off-Broadway productions at theatres including Theater for the New City, McGinn/Cazale Theatre, Samuel Beckett Theatre, The Public Theater, and The Pearl Theatre Company, as well as starring as Anne in the national tour of Anne of Green Gables with Theatreworks/USA. She has also starred in several independent films and worked as a voice artist on countless industrial videos and radio ads. In 2010, Albright co-founded Alberio Films, an independent film production company. She produced and starred in the company’s first film, Equity.
Alberio Film’s most recent movie, Sun Belt Express, starring Tate Donovan and Rachael Harris, was distributed by MarVista Entertainment and won the 2015 Grand Prix at the Chelsea Film Festival, after debuting at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival in Paris, France and winning the Main Prize at the US in Progress festival in Wroclaw, Poland. The film’s theatrical premiere was held at the iconic Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York City and was subsequently screened at The Picture House.
Albright graduated summa cum laude with a M.F.A. from the University of Washington in Seattle. She lives in Pelham with her husband, Chance and son Finnegan.
