NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Board of Trustees of the New Rochelle Public Library will hold a special Board Meeting on Thursday, February 25, at 7:30 pm, in the Ossie Davis Theater.
It is anticipated that the Board will convene an executive session at this public meeting for the purpose of discussing real estate matters, publicity of which would affect the price thereof. The Board will not take any public action after the executive session.
Also in executive session, it is expected that the Board will select a replacement for former Library Trustee, George Walters, who submitted his resignation on February 12, 2016. Mr. Walters resigned as a result of his decision to move out of New Rochelle. Mr. Walter’s term was due to expire on June 30, 2017. The Board expects to appoint a temporary replacement to serve until then, as the next Library Board of Trustees election will be held May 17, 2016 and will determine who will fulfill the final year of his term. The Board received a large number of qualified applicants to fill the remainder of the second year of the five-year term formerly held by Emery Schweig, who resigned in November due to personal reasons. These applicants will again be considered for Mr. Walter’s seat.
The Library Board of Trustees normally meets in the Library’s Ossie Davis Theater on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m., with a public-to-be-heard session at 8:15 p.m. The next regularly scheduled Board Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 10, at 7:30 pm, in the Ossie Davis Theater.
