Spring is Blooming in Westchester

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Now that spring is almost here, it’s time to get out and explore Westchester! Sing along to the best of the Beatles at The Fest for Beatles Fans, taste signature dishes from restaurants at Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and Taste of Ridge Hill and even participate in team building exercises with Escape the Room, all right here in Westchester County.

Astorino. “From the return of the beloved Fest for Beatles Fans to interesting exhibits and exciting performances, we have something for everyone.”

Great Performances

•Come together –The Fest for Beatles Fans is back! The festival celebrating Beatlemania is back in Westchester for the second year in a row.  From April 15-17 Beatles’ fans young and old will gather at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook for the three-day extravaganza, featuring musical guests who have performed with members of the Beatles. One of the largest gatherings of Beatles enthusiasts in the nation, Beatlefest was founded by the ultimate Beatles fan, Mark Lapidos, 52 years ago in New York City, with support from original Beatles members. •Directed by David Wasson, Westchester Broadway Theatre’s production of Man of La Mancha runs now through May 1. Set in 17th century Spain the musical blends tragedy, romance, comedy and adventure to tell the story of Miguel de Cervantes’wrongful imprisonment during the Spanish Inquisition. •Experience a matinee or evening performance of Westchester Broadway Theatre’s production of Tony Kenny’s Irish Celebration on Monday, March 14. The concert mixes Irish music, folk songs, comedy and Irish dancing, starring one of Ireland’s most celebrated artists, Tony Kenny. Sheep Shearing Fest at Stone Barns Center 

•The 12 Annual Celebration & Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, April 30 from 10am-3pm. Watch as the Stone Barns’ farmers shear their flock and try carding, combing and felting wool before herding the sheep to pasture. Other family-friendly activities, crafts, live music and food round out the fun. Tickets go on sale March 9 at 10am. All proceeds support the Stone Barns Center. Team Building

Bites & Beverages 

•Hudson Valley Restaurant Weekbegins on March 7 and runs through Sunday, March 20. For two weeks, diners will enjoy meals and affordable deals at more than 200 restaurants throughout the Hudson Valley, including more than 100 in Westchester County. Organized by The Valley Table Magazine, Hudson Valley Restaurant Week features prix-fixe, three-course dinners ($29.95) and lunches ($20.95). •From now until June 19, ornithologists can visit The Nest, An Exhibition of Art in Nature, at the Katonah Museum of Art. Theprovocative display incorporates contemporary art, relics from the natural world and items of material culture that showcase the similarities between human and animal behavior.
