Suspect Steals Items from Parked Vehicle: New Rochelle Police responded to a report of items missing from a vehicle. A New Rochelle woman told police that someone had allegedly stolen several items from her parked 2013 Volkswagen Passat on March 21. The complainant told police she parked her car in the driveway around 8 p.m. March 18, and when she returned, she found her car window open. She told police that her car radio, baby carrier and makeup bag were stolen from the vehicle. Neither the locks nor the windows were damaged, the police report said.

Worker Allegedly Steals Jewelry from Woman’s Home: New Rochelle Police responded to a report of theft March 20 from Wilmot Circle in New Rochelle. The homeowner told police several pieces of jewelry were allegedly stolen in January while workers painted her home. She told police she has known the painter for years and said she believes his employee stole the jewelry, according the police report. Some of the missing jewelry was in the safe and the password to the lock was written nearby. The woman told police she is missing a pair of diamond earrings worth $4,365, a Cartier worth $12,500, and a Danielle Trissi gold and diamond watch worth $7,000. Other valuable items in the safe were untouched, she told police. Also, taken from her bedroom was a stainless steel Cartier Panther worth $1,800 and a diamond bracelet worth $3,000. She described the worker as an Hispanic male, according to the report. The complainant told police that she last checked on the jewelry on Dec. 25, 2015. The suspect did not answer police’s calls to his cell phone, the report said.

Teenagers Steal Candy from Dollar Tree: New Rochelle Police were called to a burglary March 20 at Dollar Tree on North Avenue involving three teenagers who allegedly left the store without paying for merchandise, according to the police report. When police arrived, they saw three teenagers standing on the sidewalk next to the store, according to the report. When an officer asked them about the stolen candy, the teenagers removed five bags of candy from their clothing and admitted they stole it, the report said. The manager, who witnessed the theft, did not file charges but wanted the teenagers to pay for the candy, the report said. An unknown person at the store agreed to pay for the candy after the teenagers said they didn’t have the money, the police report said. The teenagers were told not to return to the store and their parents were contacted, the police report said.

Police Detain, Release Man for Peering in Car Windows: New Rochelle Police responded to a report March 19 of a suspicious man looking through car windows. Police located the suspect, a black male, who was wearing a blue jacket, jeans and timberland boots, walking southbound on Prince Street, according to a New Rochelle Police report. As an officer approached him, he dropped his jacket and fled eastbound on foot into a townhouse complex, the report said. Moments later, police located the man at the corner of North Avenue and Sickles Avenue and placed him into custody, the report said. Police located the man’s jacket and found a yellow ShopRite bag containing a used Milwaukee power grinder inside the jacket, the report said. Inside the jacket pocket, officers found a cell phone and a flashlight, the report said. No one claimed the items so no charges were filed, the report said.

Unknown Person Opens Fraudulent Credit Card Account to Transfer Money: A New Rochelle man became a victim of identity theft when his name was used to open credit cards to withdraw cash on March 19, according to a New Rochelle Police report. The victim told police that he received letters notifying him of two new credit cards which were opened in his name, the report said. The victim also learned that $7,430 and $7,480 were transferred from the two credit cards. He then discovered that a third credit card was also opened in his name, the police report said. The victim told police he never applied for the cards and did not know who opened them, the report said. He told police that his personal credit card was also hacked by an unknown person, who changed his mailing address and email address. The suspect used his reward points to purchase $2,000 on Target gift cards and spent an additional $10 for rush delivery, the report said. He told police he cancelled his cards and froze his bank account. He has contacted the credit card bureaus and the Social Security office, the report said.

Thief Steals Chainsaw from Parked Vehicle: A New Rochelle man told police that someone allegedly broke into his car March 19 and stole a chainsaw. He told police that he parked his truck in his driveway around 7 p.m. March 18 and when he returned to his car the following morning, the chainsaw was missing. Area surveillance video showed a man on a bicycle approaching the victim’s unlocked vehicle at 11:45 p.m. March 18, taking the chainsaw and then heading toward Union Avenue on a bicycle, the report said.

Thief Tries to Steal CD Player from Vehicle: A New Rochelle man told police that someone allegedly tried to steal the CD player from his car while it was parked in his driveway March 19. The man told police he parked his 2016 Subaru Forrester at 8 p.m. March 18 and left it unlocked in his driveway. At 8 a.m. the following morning, the complainant told police the glove compartment was open, the trunk was ajar and the central console cover removed, the police report said. The complainant told police nothing in the vehicle was missing or damaged.

Taxi Driver Stiffed and Robbed of Cell Phone: Three passengers allegedly stole a cab driver’s cell phone and left without paying for the cab ride on March 19. The complainant told police he picked up three, black, teenage males from Union Avenue and drove them to their desired destination. After arriving at the destination, two passengers in the back seat opened the door and jumped out of the taxi while the third passenger grabbed the complaint’s cell phone. He described the front seat passenger as an 18-year-old black male, who is 5’10” and weighs 180 pounds. He was wearing black jeans, and a black sweater, the report said.

Man Loses $40,000: New Rochelle Police responded to a report of theft by a man who told police that someone opened an account using his name and transferred $39,600 from his account to the fraudulent account. He told police that the bank contacted him on March 17 and notified him of the suspicious activity. He spoke with the bank manager, who told him that an account was opened using his name on February 27 and five transactions were made to transfer the sum of $39,600 from his account to the new account, according to the New Rochelle Police report. The manager told him that someone opened the account in his name using his driver’s license, but that the suspect used a different address and phone number. The victim went to the location whose address was used to open the account and discovered a For Sale sign for Gold Coast Realty hanging in the front of the house, the report said. The victim said he initially transferred the money to his account in July of 2015. The banker who helped with the deposit is no longer employed at the bank, the police report said.

Emilio Garcia-Alejo, 34, of Greenwich, Conn., was arrested March 19 and charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .08 of 1 percent or more, one count of first-offense driving while intoxicated, one count of AGG unlicensed operation and three open suspensions.
John S. Guiracocha, 21, of New Rochelle, was arrested March 21 and charged with one count of first-offense DWI, third-offense aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .08 of 1% or more.
Eddie S. Moya, 49, of New Rochelle, was arrested March 18 and charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Ryan R. Graham, 29, of New Rochelle, was arrested March 18 and charged with one count of DWI.
Armando Rangel, 18, of New Rochelle, was arrested March 18 and charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and one count of unlawful possession of marijuana.
Marvin Seward, 50, of New Rochelle, was arrested March 18 and charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .08 or more, one count of DWI and one count aggravated DWI.
Adriane C. Bracamonte, 30, of New Rochelle, was arrested March 18 and charged with one count of aggravated DWI, one count of operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level  of .08 of 1 percent or more and one count of DWI, previous conviction.
