Participants in the Montefiore New Rochelle’s Adult Day program beat 246 entries to win the LeadingAge NY Art Competition recently.
Artwork crafted by residents, registrants, staff and volunteers of LeadingAge New York and the Adult Day Health Care Council are on display in the annual LeadingAge New York Art Exhibit, according to a news release by Montefiore Health System, the University Hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
The group art project is coordinated and supervised each year by the organization’s Creative Art Therapist Cheryl Balestra Rowlands, under the leadership of Director Pearl Hacker, the release said.
The exhibit, which began in 1991 with just a handful of pieces, showcases more than 300 entries. The exhibit includes works from both trained and novice artists who share a love for art.
The winning project, “We Are All One in The Ocean of Love,” will be on display in major art conferences around New York, the release said.
