WHITE PLAINS, NY — Yordy Lopez, 24, of 174 North Avenue, New Rochelle was sentenced today to nine years in state prison after pleading guilty to one count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a Class “B” Violent Felony, according to a statement issued by Acting Westchester County District Attorney James A. McCarty.
Over the time period between September 2010 and Novemeber 2011, Lopez sexually assaulted a female child who was 8-9 years of age at the time involving multiple acts of sexual abuse and rape.
Lopez is a non-resident, without a social security number, from Guatemala. He is the third man from Guatemala living in New Rochelle convicted in the past 3 months following child rape charges. Humberto Agustin, 42, plead guilty to Misdemeanor Criminal Contempt, a Class A Misdemeanor on March 25, 2016. Aisar Valiente, 39, plead guilty to one count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the Second Degree, a class D felony on May 24, 2016 Also, Carmelo Jiminez Ramirez, 31, of Guatemala was arrested by New Rochelle Police and charged with Assault-2nd, a Class D Felony, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor and Criminal Tampering-3rd, a Class B Misdemeanor.
After an investigation by the New Rochelle Police Department and Special Prosecutions Division of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, the defendant was placed under arrest on April 15, 2015. Along with the prison sentence the defendant will be required to go through fifteen years post release supervision.
