NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Westchester Yoga Arts, in conjunction with New Rochelle BID and Amir & Amira Clothing, will usher in summer and honor the International Day of Yoga (June 21) with a special outdoor yoga event on the New Rochelle Library Ruby Dee Park Green, on Saturday, June 25. Hundreds of participants will gather at 1 Library Green (Huguenot & Lawton), New Rochelle NY for the solstice celebration and to practice for a good cause.
All proceeds from the donation class will go to the creation of a yoga program at the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle. Advance tickets are $15, $20 at the door.
Westchester Yoga Arts owner Wendy Vigroux says, “This solstice celebration is our way to both come together as a community and to give back to the community.”
Yogis of all levels and ages will have a chance to grab their mat or towel and participate in a special class taught by Vigroux and the studio’s experienced instructors. They will also have the opportunity to visit our sponsor village with free giveaways and opportunities to win a membership to WYA, as well as other wonderful prizes, in the drawing that will take place afterward. Participants are encouraged to upload yoga photos to Instagram and tag them #wyasolstice.
Registration begins at 2:30 at the Library Green entrance on the corner of Lawton and Huguenot. Yoga instruction continues from 3:30 to 5:00. Sponsor village is open from 2:30 to 6.
