WHITE PLAINS, NY — County Executive Robert P. Astorino invites movie fans to a screening of Minions (PG, 2015) to kick off the “Entergy Screenings under the Stars” free outdoor movie series on Friday, July 8 at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. The series will continue with Hotel Transylvania 2 (PG, 2015) scheduled to take place on Friday, Aug. 12.
The event is presented by Westchester County Parks and Sharc Events.
“Bring your family and friends together for some fun this summer. Pack a picnic and enjoy a movie or two on the lawn of our beautiful Kensico Dam Plaza,” Astorino said. “Special thanks go to our many generous sponsors for helping to make these free movie nights possible.”
Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. The movie begins at sundown.
Admission and parking are free. Moviegoers should bring blankets, folding chairs and a picnic. Refreshments will also be available for sale. In the event of rain, the movie will be canceled.
The movie tells the story of the Minions Kevin, Stewart, and Bob who embark on a big journey to find a new boss. Eventually after some minor trouble along the way, they find Scarlet Overkill, the world’s first woman super villain. They are given a task and finally succeed but that isn’t enough for scarlet. She has a plan to terminate the minions and take over the world.
