NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Award-winning chef and cookbook author Arlen Gargagliano will present cooking demonstrations on Saturday, October 8th, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, at the Farmer’s Market in Ruby Dee Park at Library Green and from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm in the Meeting Room of the New Rochelle Public Library. From her signature guacamole (with toasted pecans, grapes, and a hint of chipotle), to Pernil (roast pork shoulder) and Gallo Pinto (Costa Rican style rice and beans), topped with her well-loved Dulce de Leche Lace Cookies for dessert, Arlen’s food style embraces the best of many cultures.
Arlen was the chef and owner of her own highly acclaimed restaurant in Tuckahoe, New York, Mambo 64, which received a called “Great” rating by the New York Times. She is a Contributing Chef and Host at Bar’Lees in Mamaroneck NY. In addition to co-authoring 15 or more cookbooks, she has two cocktail/tapas books to her name; Mambo Mixers and Calypso Coolers.
