NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle womens volleyball team travelled to the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Tuesday for a non-conference match. Merchant Marine extended its winning streak to three as it took New Rochelle in straight sets 25-17, 25-15, 25-16. CNR falls to 4-8 on the season while USMMA now sits at 6-4.
Freshmen Cristal Liciaga (San Juan, PR) led CNR with seven of the teams 26 kills, while freshmen Simaima Fukofuka (Garden Grove, CA) added six. Freshmen Brianna Garcia (San Juan, PR) led the way on the floor with 10 digs. CNR, which has been very good at serving this season, was held to just one ace on the night, while USMMA had seven.
CNR will begin its defense of its Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title this Thursday night at the Wellness Center when it welcomes The Kings College for a 7:30pm contest.
