NEW ROCHELLE, NY — In the latest USTFCCCA regional poll, the Iona College women’s cross country program is ranked No. 10 in the Northeast. Strong performances at the 22nd annual Br. John “Paddy” Doyle / Meet of Champions and Paul Short Invitational have propelled the Gaels back into the rankings for the first time since Sept. 12.
The top four teams in the Northeast Region are all nationally ranked, including No. 1 Providence College, No. 17 Yale, No. 20 Syracuse, and No. 29 Harvard.
Graduate senior Teghan Henderson has been a strong competitor for the Maroon & Gold. She placed first in the 5K Meet of Champions race in 18:07.6, and 23rd at the Paul Short Invitational in 20:36.
Iona continues its season on Friday, Oct. 7 at the Metropolitan Championship. The race is being held at Van Cortlandt Park.
