NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Yesterday, U.S Senator Chuck Schumer held a press conference at the Hugh Doyle Senior Center to introduce his proposed new legislation to Medicare entitled BENES act. The new legislation will make the Medicare enrollment process easier and help ensure everyone receives the full coverage they’ve earned. We wholeheartedly support Senator Schumer’s efforts to protect seniors with the BENES Act. This new legislation will significantly improve the program for new enrollees. It was an honor to have Senator Schumer choose our senior center to deliver this important update. Mayor Noam Bramson, Assemblyman Steve Otis, and Joe Backer, President of the Medicare Rights Center were also in attendance.
