NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Monroe College Women’s Cross Country team ran to victory at the 5k race at the NJIT Highlander Invitational. The Mustangs earned 110 points, five points better than the second-place team, Montclair State. Susan Ejore set a new course record and was the overall champion. Overall results can be found here.
Ejore, who set the course record at NJIT last year, broke her own mark with a blistering time of 16:28.9. Her teammate, Nokuthula Dlamini, came in second with a clocking of 17:28.2. Jemima Backman was 11th overall with a time of 19:44.2. Tashay Roberts notched a mark of 20:58.5, while Aliyah Matta crossed the finish line in 22:24.7.
The Monroe College Women’s Cross Country team will return to action on Saturday, October 15th, at the Great Dane Classic hosted by the University of Albany. The race is set for 10:00 AM.
