Lightning No Match for CNR; Blue Angels Improve to 13-9

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle Womens Volleyball team made it four straight with an easy 3-0 blanking of Lehman College in non-conference action Thursday night.  With the win, CNR improves to 13-9 overall, while Lehman falls to 4-17.

CNR held Lehman to negative hitting numbers in all three sets while the Blue Angels ended the night above .200 on the attack.  Freshmen Imani Debose (Carson, CA) led all players with 10 kills on the night.  

CNR piled onto their ace total, racking up 15 more against the Lightning. Senior Tiany Perez Diaz (Juncos, PR) led all players with five aces.  Senior Melanie Ann Lopez Soto (Gurabo, PR) had eight assist while freshmen Kailee Ke (Waianae, HI) added six assists.  Sophomore Stephanie Garcia (Chino, CA) led the way defensively with 11 digs.

CNR will return home on Saturday when they host HVIAC rival Culinary Institute at 3pm.  The game is part of a full slate of games, part of Family Weekend at CNR on Saturday.
