NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Iona College men’s water polo team were stopped by Bucknell on Sunday, 23-6. The Maroon and Gold could not contain a potent Bison offense, as they dropped their to 7-14 on the season.
- The Gaels trailed 6-3 after the first quarter, and mirrored it in the second quarter, falling behind Bucknell 12-6 at halftime.
- Iona was held off the scoresheet in the second half and conceding twelve goals.
- Sophomore Andres Guerra led the Gaels with two goals scored along with two kickouts drawn.
- Junior Zach Roper tallied a pair of goals to go along with one assist, three steals, and two kickouts drawn.
- Freshman Jorge Andres Torres appeared in the first three quarters, allowing 18 goals, while stopping 13.
- Freshman Michael Banks came in relief, making four saves.
