NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Monroe College Men’s Soccer team closed out the regular season with a 4-0 victory at Nassau Community College on Wednesday. The team boasts a perfect 13-0 record on the season and is currently ranked #2 in the nation by the NJCAA.
Monroe opened the scoring in the seventh minute, when Ben Mardones found Felipe Hideki, who finished with his left foot. Almost half an hour later, Hideki brought the score to 2-0 when he scored off a pass from Gabriel Machado. Monroe led 2-0 at the half.
The score went to 3-0 nearly five minutes into the second half, when Ignacio Goya connected with Isaac Tavarez, who dribbled by four players and calmly beat the keeper. Tavarez added another marker nearly ten minutes later, off a Machado through ball. Monroe won 4-0.
The Monroe College Men’s Soccer team will host the Region XV Championship on Saturday, October 29th, against ASA College. The time is still to be determined.
