NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Monroe College Women’s Cross Country team placed sixth at the Great Dane Invitational at the University at Albany on Saturday. Despite the fact that Monroe was the only junior college at the meet, Susan Ejore won her fourth race of the season, setting her fourth course record in the process. Full results can be found here.
Monroe earned both first and second place in the 5k race. Ejore’s winning time was 16:59.6, which set a new course record. Her teammate Nokuthula Dlamini, came in second with a time of 17:35.4. Jemima Backman was the next Monroe runner to finish with a mark of 20:11.7. From there, Tashay Roberts clocked a time of 22:05.3, while Aliyah Matta crossed the line in a time of 24:40.4.
The Monroe College Women’s Cross Country team will return to action on Thursday, October 20th, when they host a Tri-Meet with ASA & Essex at Van Cortlandt Park. The race will begin at 10:00 AM.
