NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle Women’s Basketball team improved to 5-2 on the season with a convincing 67-41 victory over York College in non-conference action Saturday afternoon. CNR led from opening tip to the final whistle, handing York its 7th loss of the season (1-7).
The Blue Angel defense held York to just 26.3 percent from the field on the day and also forced the ball to be turned over 26 times. That was combined with a solid shooting performance and four players in double figures, led by junior Chelsea Thomas (Bronx, NY) who had a game-high and season-best 18 points.

The Blue Angels jumped out to a 17-3 advantage after the first quarter of play. The quarter included an 11-0 run in which Brice score nine of her points. The second quarter was slightly closer but still saw the Blue Angels outscore the Cardinals 15-9, extending their lead to 32-12 at the half. Despite a late attempt in the fourth quarter by York, CNR easily held off the Cardinals for the win.
