The New York City high school legend, known as “Starbury”, was born and raised in Brooklyn. He attended Abraham Lincoln High School where he was named New York State Mr. Basketball.
Marbury currently plays for the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association where he has won three CBA championships (2012, 2014 and 2015). He is widely considered as the greatest foreign player to ever play in the Chinese Basketball Association.
He attended college at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was drafted with the 4th overall pick in the 1996 draft Milwaukee Bucks then traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves where he played from 1996 to 1999. He played for the New Jersey Nets (1999–2001), Phoenix Suns (2001–2004), New York Knicks (2004–2009), and finished out his NBA career with the Boston Celtics (2009). He was an NBA All-Star in 2001 and 2003.
