NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Silver, Martin A., 72 of New Rochelle, NY passed away on September 8, 2016. Deeply mourned by his loving wife Linda Maxin Silver, beloved son Scott Silver and wife Bonnie, beloved daughter Shanna Leuchter and husband Bruce, and dear sister Susan Wisan and her husband Robert. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Trey, Allison, Remy and Ross. After graduating from the Wharton School of Business in 1966 he became a CPA. In 1970, he joined the family business, Bel-Aqua Pool Supply in New Rochelle, NY, a company founded by his parents, Nettie and Murray Silver. Along with his sister and partner, Susan, they grew the business to a thriving and industry leading enterprise. Marty was so proud to know that Bel-Aqua would continue to be a family business under the leadership of his son Scott and nephew Mark Warshaw. Within the swimming pool industry, from employees to customers to vendors and even competitors, Marty was held in the highest regard. He was actively involved for many years in local, regional and national trade associations within the pool & spa industry. He was a complete embodiment of business ethics and family values. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed traveling, playing golf, watching NCIS and falling asleep by his pool. All of his friends (and there were many) whether personal or professional were near and dear to his heart. He was truly a man of fine character and as he often said his word was his bond. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him. He has left us but he has left behind an untarnished legacy of love and respect.
