NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle softball team dropped a pair of contests to Bay Path University on Friday. The Blue Angels fell 7-2 and 6-2 to the host Wildcats. With the losses CNR fell to 8-4, while Bay Path climbed above .500 at 12-11 overall.
CNR sophomore pitcher Victoria Rivera (Bronx, NY) suffered her first loss of the year and is now 7-1 overall. She struck out five and allowed only three earned runs. Freshmen Emily Perez (Queens, NY) took the loss in game two for CNR.
In game one, CNR was only able to manage six scattered singles on Wildcat pitcher Madison Goodhart. Freshmen Victoria Holmes (Franklin, VA) had two of those hits. Both CNR runs were unearned.
Game two was a similar story, as CNR tallied four hits on Wildcat starter Felicia Gaillardetz. Again Holmes had the hot bat going 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Freshmen Sydney Jorgensen (Staten Island, NY) picked up the other RBI.
CNR played Pine Manor the next day, but as of Monday, no stats have been provided from the game by the host.
