NEW ROCHELLE, NY — According to records obtained by Talk of the Sound under a Freedom of Information Request, the City of New Rochelle initiated foreclosure proceedings of tax liens against West Friends Management Group, LLC on March 23, 2017. As of May 1, 2017, West Friends Management Group owed $115,898.56 on the the property located at 12 Memorial Highway, the home of Alvin & Friends Restaurant.
Those back taxes break down as follows: $13,238.99 is owed to the City of New Rochelle. $$87,666.43 is owed to the City School District of New Rochelle. $14,091.53 is owed to Westchester County.
According to the lawsuit, the last day to redeem the outstanding tax liens is June 16, 2017. Foreclosure will result in “the loss of ownership of such property and all rights in the process”. After June 16, 2017, a court will transfer the title of the property to the City of New Rochelle by means of a court judgement.
