NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Police Department will host its National Night Out/Open House on Tuesday, August 1 from 5:30-8:30 PM at Police Headquarters, 475 North Avenue. This family-friendly event will feature facility tours of NRPD headquarters, equipment and K-9 demonstrations, fun activities for children & teens, food, plus a live DJ! Rain date will be Wednesday, August 2.
Tours of the Harbor Patrol will also be given from 1:30-5:30 PM at 500 Hudson Park Road. Participants must fill out a waiver in advance of the boat ride. Waivers are available for download online.
National Night Out/NRPD Open House is presented in partnership with the New Rochelle Police Foundation, New Rochelle PBA, Youth Bureau, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Police Association and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
“National Night Out highlights our community partnerships, and strengthen our neighborhood connections,” said Police Commissioner Patrick Carroll.
Additionally, this year’s event will feature a NY Citizens Preparedness Training Program presented by the New York State Citizens Preparedness Corps from 7-8PM in the NRPD Training Room. The program will provide residents with the knowledge and tools to prepare for any type of emergencies and disasters. Residents must call 914-654-2321 to pre-register.
National Night Out will feature the following agencies: New Rochelle Office for The Aging, WestFair Rides, Choice, Adult Protective Services, Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services, Westchester County for Women, United Community Center of Westchester, Children of Hope, Office of the Attorney General, Pace Women’s Justice Center, My Sister’s Place, Westchester County Department of Community Mental Health, Elder Abuse Prevention Program, Westchester Mediation Center of Cluster, HOPE, Westchester Community Opportunity Victims Assistance, Westchester County Transportation Community Relations, Poet’s Corner/Meditation and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
