NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle High School teacher Anthony Stirpe telling the audience at the recent Apple Distinguished Educator conference in Houston about his innovative writing and film-making class.
Stirpe was named one of the Apple Distinguished Educators, a distinction is given annually to a handful of educators worldwide for their use of technology. They don’t all get to present to the tech-savvy audience though. Stirpe went there to talk about “risk taking in the classroom.”
In Stirpe’s class, students use iPhones, iPads and iPods to create films around the works of classic and modern authors.
