NEW ROCHELLE, NY — In the spirit of doing good on September 11, members of the New Rochelle High School Varsity football team spent a Sunday brightening the day of some of their neighbors in need.
While many spent their days watching college and NFL football, players from the varsity football team took the time to deliver food as part of the “Meals on Wheels” program at the Schaffer Helen and Michael Extended Care Center in New Rochelle.
The athletes, sporting their brightest purple and white jerseys, delivered dozens of nutritious meals to patients in need at the Extended Care Center at Montefiore Hospital.
This won’t be the last time that the players take their talents of the gridiron, with another food delivery scheduled for next weekend, and others possibly planned in the future.
