PELHAM, NY — The New Year is approaching and with it, new creative explorations and adventures! Winter is perfect for satisfying that urge to create something. Pelham Art Center is offering a rich range of artistic adventures for adults, children and teens. Kids learn STEM concepts through digital art-making with Scratch Coding, Digital Photography, Experimental Animation, 3D Computer Modeling, or 3D Printing and Modeling. For curious children who love to get messy, there’s Create with Clay, and for adults who want to join the fun we have CLAY ADULT +ME! Looking for an inspiring camp during winter break? We’ve got you covered! Winter Camp starts February 20-23.
High School students may take any adult class. Important for art students who want to build their portfolios for college, we’re offering Figure Drawing again – it really helped prepare high school students last semester!
Eleanor Miller’s adult Friday morning and afternoon Drawing and Painting classes are legendary and always full. Because of the popularity of her classes, Eleanor is teaching a Thursday morning class as well. Or you might want to try Watercolor (beginners welcome!), Clay, or Create with Collage – in fact a couple of different interesting options for collage…! Are you looking to find your “voice” in painting? We have a class with just that aim! And of course, many more exciting choices…
Not sure you can commit to a full semester? Try a workshop to explore a new art form in an afternoon, from Winter Greenery (January 25), to Matchbox Valentines (February 3), to Abstract Mixed Media (February 15).
These are just a few of the many exciting classes available for all ages. Registration is open now. For information and registration go to Pelhamartcenter.org/education, or call 738 2525 x111. Stop by anytime for a catalog at 155 Fifth Ave.
While your kids are having fun, they are also improving social and motor skills, personal expression, visual communication and application for digital skills. Statistics show that children involved in the arts improve academically! And exercising your creativity stretches from your art class to the board room to the classroom to general problem-solving! PAC instructors are great teachers, as well as professional artists in their associated mediums – so inspiring children, youth and adults alike comes naturally.
