NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Monroe College men’s basketball team closed out its trip to Florida on Thursday, falling to Palm Beach State College by a score of 75-67 at Eastern Florida State College’s Titan Field House. The Mustangs finish the trip with a 10-7 overall record, while Palm Beach State improves to 11-7 with its win.
Jhery Matos closes out a big weekend by filling up the stat sheet on Thursday. He scored a team-high 15 points, while also leading the team with eight rebounds, five assists and seven steals. Clifton Tracey finished close behind with 13 points and six boards. Bryan Assie added nine points and seven rebounds while also blocking a shot.
The Mustangs will return home and play next on Thursday, Jan. 11, when they host Lackawanna College at the Monroe Athletic Complex. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m., following the women’s basketball matchup between the Mustangs and Falcons.
