NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The community came out to enjoy the 6th annual Black History Month Celebration at New Rochelle High School.
Performances, food, arts, crafts, books and more created a multi-faceted festival. Included were dance and drum performances from the Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy, awards for students and a tribute to New Rochelle High School Principal Reginald Richardson by students in his Advanced Topics in African-American Studies class.
Here are some scenes.
The event was presented by the WABSE- Westchester Alliance of Black School Educators and the Black History Month Committee, with support from the New Rochelle Fund for Educational Excellence and the New Rochelle Council on the Arts
