NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police are investigating a brutal assault and robbery of a female New Rochelle High School student by three females, including two fellow NRHS students.
The victim was lured into a car by her attackers under a false pretense. Once inside the car she was severely beaten and robbed, sources say. The victim knew at least one of her attackers. At least one of the attackers is said to have a history of dealing drugs.
The police have made one arrest and continue to seek two other people.
“An 18 year old female student was arrested at the high school regarding a robbery that occurred on January 23rd at 11 p.m. on Valley Place,” said New Rochelle Police Captain Robert Gazzola.
“There are two other suspects involved,” he added. “It remains an active investigation.”
Valley Place is a small street off Fifth Avenue near Flowers Park.
Kayla Raffaele, 18, of New Rochelle, NY was charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and is being held pending a court appearance. Her arrest sheet indicates she was out on bail having been previously released on her own recognizance.
