PELHAM, NY — Start planning your summer! The Pelham Art Center is offering week-long classes and camps for the youth and semester-long classes for adults. There’s no better place to let your imagination run wild than at the Pelham Art Center where you create in art studios with lively, dynamic artists.
Summer art camps for the youth are designed to stimulate creative expression through projects and activities that change each week. Little ones (ages 3-7) can construct and create to their hearts’ content in week-long art camps where they dive in different themes, with new art-making, movement projects and theater. Each week is a thrilling adventure with themes like Into the Woods (June 11-15), Zoo Adventures (June 18-22), Bugs and Creepy Crawlies (July 9-13), Dr. Seuss (July 16-20), Dinosaurs! (July 23-27), TADA! Youth Theater (July 30-August 3), Exploring Space (August 6-10), Under the Sea (August 13-17), Fairytales and Superheroes (August 20-24) and Travel the World (August 27-31).
For older kids (ages 7-18) we offer week-long studio and digital classes, designed to allow students to immerse themselves in a new art form. Varying form 2 to 3 hours a day, students have the opportunity to explore different mediums all summer long. With classes such as Drawing and Painting, Clay, Smart Phone Photography, Mixed Media & Sculpture, Assemblage & 3D Art, Watercolor, Printmaking, Digital Photography, Mexican Folk Art, Comic Book, Future Graphic Designers, Make a Horror Movie and more!
For youth and adults, there is an exhilarating range of once-a-week summer semester classes. Join our Painting beyond the Photo class which will enable you to utilize traditional painting techniques and alchemize your image into the world of painting. Discover expressive art of collage with Create with Collage and Digital Collage. Digital Photography I & II will train your eye and enable you to take refined, versatile photographs. Get your hands in clay with Ceramics in the Morning and Evening. Refine your drawing and painting skills with Morning or Afternoon Drawing & Painting, and Life Drawing.
