NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police Youth Detectives are investigating after a student allegedly brought a BB gun into Isaac E. Young Middle School.
At 12:29 p.m. on Monday, New Rochelle Police responded to a complaint from the school’s administrative staff.
“They found a BB gun in a student’s back pack,” said New Rochelle Police Deputy Commissioner Robert Gazolla. “There were no reports of threats made to any students or staff.”
The BB gun was turned over to the officers and the incident is under investigation, said Gazolla.
The incident follows months of concerns over school security following a spate of violence in January where one student was killed and another seriously injured, both as a result of being stabbed by other students.
