New Rochelle Police Make Arrest in Homeless-on-Homeless Violence, After Body of Woman Found at Armory

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police Department have arrested Jose Olmos, 28, a homeless Hispanic male. He has been charged with Murder 2nd Degree in the death of Nurten Seljuk, 66, a white female, who according to family members had lived a transient lifestyle. Seljuk appears to have suffered massive blunt force trauma to her head.

The official cause of death is pending the outcome of the Medical Examiner’s investigation. Family members have been notified of Seljuk’s death.  The arrest occurred at 4:47 a.m. Saturday morning.

Olmos is being held at the New Rochelle Police Department pending arraignment on Monday July 30th.
