New Rochelle Man Busted Upstate with $1 Million worth of High Grade Marijuana, say State Police

MIDDLETOWN, NY — New York State Police arrested a New Rochelle Man Friday with a million dollars worth of marijuana in the back of a pick up truck.

Anthony Donofrio, 69, of New Rochelle, NY, for Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree, a Class C Felony.  Also arrested was Danny A. Aguayo, age 35, of Stamford, CT.

According to Troop F Commander Major Pierce V. Gallagher, on July 27, 2018, a vehicle and traffic stop was executed on a 2018 Rental vehicle on State Route 208 in the Town of Montgomery, which was being operated by Donofrio. A strong odor of marijuana was detected which led to a search of their vehicle. Secreted in a large wooden container in the bed of the pickup truck, State Police found over 204 pounds of high grade marijuana that was individually packaged. The marijuana has a street value of over $1 Million dollars.

Aguayo and Donofrio were both charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree. They were arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $50,000 Cash Bail, $100,000 bond.
