09/22 “Law at the Library” Series to Focus on Issues Related to Seniors 1 PM

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — “Legal & Life Matters for Seniors” is the subject of the next program in the “Law at the Library” series presented by the New Rochelle Bar Association and the New Rochelle Public Library Foundation, at the New Rochelle Public Library. The afternoon program on Saturday, September 22, from 1:00 pm – 4:45 pm, will provide essential information on key issues facing an aging population. Senior citizens, 

and those concerned about aging parents and grandparents, will benefit from this information-rich afternoon that will undo myths, unravel mysteries, and provide concerned individuals, family and friends with solid, helpful guidance.

A series of presentations by attorneys will take place in the Ossie Davis Theater. From 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm, “Senior Scams – Elder Abuse,” will be presented by Jamie E. Fair, Westchester County Assistant District Attorney. The 2:00 pm – 2:45 pm presentation, “Estate Planning/Elder Law – Should I use a Will or a Trust?,” will be addressed by Patricia Micek. From 3:00 pm – 3:45 pm, Artem Djukic will present “How to Pay for Long Term Care? Understanding Medicaid Benefits.” David Lacher will address the topic “Making it Easier to Care:  Power of Attorney or Guardianship?” from 4:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Each presenter will allow time for a question and answer period.

The afternoon program will also provide opportunities for the public to meet with representatives from related nonprofit organizations, who will also be distributing information and sharing resources in the library’s lobby.
